In a stirring and faith-filled address that set the tone for the 4th Global International Research Network Symposium on Sustainable Development, that took place on 10th-12th June 2025 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Sr. Dr. Josephine Kangogo, Chairperson of the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK) and the CERRA AFRICA Board of Directors, extended a heartfelt welcome to participants drawn from across Africa and beyond. Representing both AOSK and CERRA-AFRICA, Sr. Dr. Kangogo a member of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart Congregation, framed the gathering as a “historic milestone” in the ongoing mission of Catholic Sisters, one that blends education, research, and prophetic witness for the transformation of communities and the Church in Africa.
Speaking with both gratitude and conviction, she reminded participants that the symposium was not merely an academic or institutional event. Rather, it was “a spiritual convergence of hearts,” where the collective wisdom, faith, and experiences of consecrated women could illuminate new pathways toward sustainable development and Gospel inspired action…
